MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF COLLECTIONS

Collection Development and Management Division is responsible for the description of managing all aspects related to the purchase, receipt, processing, maintenance and distribution of library collections to a service center Penang Public Library Corporation. This section consists of two units, Acquisition and Collection Unit and Technical Documentor.

REVENUE COLLECTION UNIT


REVENUE COLLECTIONS UNIT FUNCTIONS

This unit is responsible for building the collection Corporation including obtaining and maintaining a collection of such loans, and good references and high quality in a variety of things that reflect the heritage, literature and culture of Penang and also 'representative' in a variety of science and knowledge are constantly updated and meet needs of the people of Penang.

Ensure that the provisions set out spent with maximum benefit in addition to creating a complete collection and quality in satisfying customer needs.

DOCUMENTATION AND TECHNICAL UNIT


UNIT FUNCTIONS AND TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

This unit is responsible organizing library materials through the classification and cataloging and provides record - a record for the construction Database to enable Malaysians in general and especially the people of Penang access and use of library materials easily and quickly

OBJECTIVE UNIT

- Catalogue, classify, inputting data, processing and distributing · library collections with standards MS ISO 9001: 2008 and distributed to the Corporation by the service center itineraries has been set.

- Ensure materials are ready to be distributed according to the library's collection of 45,000 volumes library locations per year.

- Provide statistical reports each year.
