ESTABLISHMENT PPAPP
Introduction
Penang Public Library Corporation (PPAPP) has started its services in January 1973 soon after he took over the management of a library Library Penang Malaysia's first subscription which started its library since 1817. Enactment 1972 PPAPP approved by the Penang State Legislative Assembly on 7th August 1972 set PPAPP as a body with the power to provide facilities and public library services for people in the state and expand the use of information and library materials in the country.
PPAPP network now has a network of electronic library that can accommodate the needs of the people of Penang bridge the knowledge gap and the digital divide between rural and urban society in which each library can be reached on-line. PPAPP now have a library in Seberang Jaya, 5 library branches in George Town, Balik Pulau, Bukit Mertajam, Jawi, Bertam and a Children's Library in Jalan Scotland. There are two libraries in the town of Bagan Ajam and Simpang Ampat and 4 libraries in shopping centers in Komtar, Mayang Mall Bayan Baru Perda City Mall and AEON Bukit Mertajam. Also has a 1 piece Digital library Tasek Gelugor Corporation also has a wide range of cyber library science throughout Penang state library totaling 48 states and 33 others were established by the National Library which is now managed by the Corporation.
In addition to static libraries, PPAPP also has 12 units of mobile library that visits places that no library, where 2 units of Mobile Library provides services to PWDs (Persons with Disabilities). There is a disparity in terms of collection and the game compared to the other mobile library. This is a step development of the Corporation in meeting the information needs of the people of Penang, with not ignore and let people with disabilities because they are also entitled to receive information and education.

PPAPP recognized quality system EN ISO 9001: 2008. PPAPP scope is "Provision of Library Services and Information" PPAPP vision and commitment to quality management and all levels of the PPAPP have ensured renewal of the MS ISO 9001: 2008. With this achievement, PPAPP proved that PPAPP is a body that is concerned with ensuring the quality of the library service delivery to customers located in the excellent level.
